CHEP
The Coventry Historic Environment Project (CHEP) was devised by the Coventry and District Archaeology Society, in partnership with Coventry City Council's Conservation and Archaeology Team and the staff at the Herbert Museum. It aimed to encourage people in the Coventry area to learn about and enjoy the archaeology and heritage of their area by providing opportunities for them to take part in training workshops and the fieldwork activities of a landscape survey. The initial project took place over two years, focussing on the Allesley, Coundon and Keresley areas and was funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project has now finished. You can download the final Newsletter here - CHEP Final Newsletter
The volunteers who took part in the project have continued to meet in order to carry out fieldwalking and other activities - see the fieldwalking group pages at Fieldwalking Group
